Employability Session 3: Professionalism & Business Ethics Workshop

IBSUniversity, through its Career Development Centre (CDC), successfully hosted another insightful and practical employability session on Professionalism & Business Ethics Workshop on March 11, 2026. The session was facilitated by Ms. Esther Ururu, Human Resource Manager at Hilton Port Moresby Hotel & Residences, a respected HR professional known for her dedication to developing workplace-ready graduates.

The third and Final year students of IBSUniversity were provided with valuable exposure to professional expectations and workplace standards. Ms. Ururu delivered a practical session to help students understand key aspects of professionalism and ethical conduct in modern organizations. She discussed:

  • Moral principles and workplace ethics to uphold integrity and accountability
  • Professional attitude, behavior, and standards required in diverse work environments
  • Unwritten workplace rules and cultural expectations that influence professional conduct
  • Effective communication skills essential for collaboration and relationship building
  • Punctuality and time management for improved productivity and efficiency
  • Appropriate dressing and professional appearance to create a positive impression
  • Respect and teamwork as foundations of a healthy workplace culture

With examples, interactive discussions, and practical exercises, students were encouraged to actively participate and reflect on their own professional habits. The session provided clear insights into workplace etiquette and helped students build confidence in navigating professional environments.

This workshop reinforces the Career Development Center’s commitment to preparing IBSUniversity students for successful careers. By focusing on professionalism, ethics, and soft skills, the CDC continues to empower students to become competent, responsible, and industry-ready graduates.
