Employability Session 4: Mentorship Programme on Career and Business Growth
On March 18, 2026, IBSUniversity, through its Career Development Centre (CDC), successfully conducted Employability Session 4 under the Mentorship Programme, focusing on “Mentorship for Career and Business Growth.” The session was held to effectively engage Year 3 and Year 4 students from School of Accounting and Finance, School of Business and Management, School of Information Technology and School of Economics and Development Studies.

This highly impactful session brought together distinguished industry professionals who served as mentors, providing discipline-specific insights and guidance tailored to students’ academic backgrounds. The mentors included:
- Maryann Lameko-Vaai, Group Chief Auditor, BSP Financial Group Limited – Mentor for the School of Accounting and Finance
- Anton Dennis Neinaka, Managing Director / Principal Consultant, Zimcare Limited – Mentor for the School of Business and Management
- John Pulu, General Manager Corporate Sales, DATEC PNG Limited – Mentor for the School of Information Technology
- Ludwig Aba, Economist, Bank of Papua New Guinea – Mentor for the School of Economics and Development

Each mentor shared valuable industry experiences, practical knowledge, and professional advice, creating a direct link between academic learning and practical expectations.
Throughout the session, students explored the critical role of mentorship in guiding career pathways and shaping professional growth. The mentors emphasized the importance of understanding industry expectations, acquiring relevant skills, and developing the right mindset to succeed in their career pathway.

The session also highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial thinking, encouraging students to identify opportunities for business growth and innovation within their respective fields. In addition, mentors stressed the value of professional networking and relationship-building as essential tools for long-term success.

Through interactive discussions and real-life experiences shared by the speakers, students gained deeper insights into workplace realities and the practical steps required to transition successfully from university to professional environments. The session further helped students build confidence, adaptability, and a proactive approach toward their future careers.

Employability Session 4 is the ongoing CDC Employability readiness program that supports IBSUniversity’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates.
